Isles Talk 2017-18 Western Conference Predictions

September 25, 2017

So we’re just about two weeks away from the start of the regular season and it’s time for my predictions segment. Now unlike many, I love doing predictions. It gives me a chance to really look into researching other teams and I pride myself on how that research comes to fruition. As always I will break down each conference into four categories: The Core; Bubble, Sophomores, and Lottery. When it…

Isles Giveaway Game To The Canucks

January 7, 2015

There’s not much to write about this game after the Matt Martin goal that gave the New York Islanders a 1-0 lead against the Vancouver Canucks. The Islanders had too many giveaways that the Canucks capitalized on. Truthfully after what I saw in Edmonton, which again wasn’t much, I turned off the TV once the score was 3-1. The penalty kill was decent but the power play was non existent…

A Tale of Two Sad Franchises

March 10, 2014 ** This is the link to the SportsTalk 1240 Show that John and I did last night.  Dan Petriw from HockeyBuzz was our guest.  He was FANTASTIC!  Check it out… It has not been the best years for EITHER of these two franchises.  The one difference though, is that the home team is still relatively close to a playoff spot.  The odds are a bit better than the visitors have…

A Point – But an Ugly One

The naysayers are out there… …Nabby Sucks! …The Defense is HORRIBLE! …Okposo looks lost! …Where is Johnny tonight? And those are the PG rated versions. Again – the Isles had a 2-0 lead early.  The momentum was there.  They could have made a killing of this game.  Once again – my theory comes to fruition. This team needs to back a team in the corner; beat them to submission, then…

Pregame Thoughts – Canucks vs. Islanders

The last game of the home stand is tonight.  The team will put the blues away for a couple of days, heading to Pittsburgh before coming back for two more home contests. Tonight – we welcome former Ranger coach John Tortorella for a visit back to the Coli.  Remember, we should all give him a nice ovation and sign of support. Yes, that would be like a Yankee fan walking…
