My Take: Great value contract for the Islanders and Duclair. He’ll add the necessary offense for the top line and despite having difficulties on defense himself, he and his other linemates best defense will be keeping the puck in the opponents zone more often which should lead to more goals. Duclair also knows what he’s getting himself into with his “new” coach.
Duclair will benefit from a structured system like Roy’s, but it is only July 1st. Time will tell.
