Isles Talk 2017-18 Western Conference Predictions

September 25, 2017

So we’re just about two weeks away from the start of the regular season and it’s time for my predictions segment. Now unlike many, I love doing predictions. It gives me a chance to really look into researching other teams and I pride myself on how that research comes to fruition. As always I will break down each conference into four categories: The Core; Bubble, Sophomores, and Lottery. When it…

Isles Talk Rumor Roundup: Duchene, Landeskog, Duclair, Yakupov

December 3, 2016

Since it’s a slow night, I’d figure I take a look around the internet to see any possible trade rumors involving the Islanders. There really isn’t anything concrete or anything of substance, but I’ll just have some fun and this is strictly for entertainment, I have no confirmation on anything here, pure speculation. From Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: There are rumblings Colorado would trade captain/left-winger Gabriel Landeskog for a…

The Islanders gave up two goals in the third period, but managed to earn the extra point in overtime by beating the St. Louis Blues 3-2. Kyle Okposo, John Tavares scored during regulation while Mikhail Grabovski scored the game winner. St. Louis had a slew of players injured and it showed in the first period as they looked out of sync, but came back in the second and third periods….

Audio Blog – December 7 – Tough on Against the Blues

December 7, 2014

Unfortunately, the Isles did not finish the job for Bobby. On the day where they honored number 23 at the Coliseum, the Isles lost whatever momentum that they had in a 3 goal first period, and fell flat – as they lost to the Blues 6-4, Saturday afternoon. The Isles are now back in a first place tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins atop the Metro Division. The Blues dumped Jake…

Free Agency: What Isles Can Take From Round 1

There are two facts about doing brackets for the NHL playoffs: First, I’m really good at picking the Eastern Conference as all the teams I had picked moved on. Playoff Preview: Thursday Night

Let’s get right into it with my picks for the series winners and a look at a few possible free agents for the Islanders. Flyers Vs. Rangers: The Flyers will be without starting goalie Steve Mason for the series and I cannot expect…

Western Swing Starts at the Arch

Well – the western swing from hell begins tonight. 8:00 the Isles take to the Scottrade Center to face a very strong Blues team, who many are picking to get the chance to drink from Lord Stanley’s Cup. The $64,000 question is: Will the ISLANDERS step up? To a man – aside from the three on the top line, the contributions to this team are just about non-existent lately.  Grabner…
