From the New York Islanders:
The New York Islanders announced today that Ryan Strome has agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
Strome, 23, scored 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists) in 71 games last season with the Islanders. The Mississauga, ON, native added four points (one goal, three assists) in eight Stanley Cup Playoff games.
My Take: The plus side to this is that he’s signed. According to Art Staple, it’s a two-year deal worth 5 million. That’s close to where I thought Strome would be, especially when I had him compared to Mika Zibanejad, who got a slightly higher contract from the Rangers. So now let’s enjoy watching the World Cup and let the real training camp begin. Let’s go!!!
