Unfortunately, the Isles did not finish the job for Bobby.
On the day where they honored number 23 at the Coliseum, the Isles lost whatever momentum that they had in a 3 goal first period, and fell flat – as they lost to the Blues 6-4, Saturday afternoon.
The Isles are now back in a first place tie with the Pittsburgh Penguins atop the Metro Division.
The Blues dumped Jake Allan after a lackluster first period for ‘backup’ Martin Brodeur. He did not face a shot for nearly nine minutes, and when he did, the 3-0 deficit was washed away.
Two St. Louis goals late in the third were the difference.
Here is my blog thoughts on yesterday, as well as the press conference from Bobby Nystrom and the Coach’s comments following the game.
