Islanders Look To Clip The Pens

The New York Islanders (4-0-0; 8 points) take on the Pittsburgh Penguins (2-1-0; 4 points) tonight at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Forget about the idea that these two teams will be fighting for a first place spot, this is a battle between the two worst penalty killing teams in the League. The Islanders are currently ranked 29th with 61.9% while Pittsburgh is 30th with a 60% “effective” rating. Once again, if the Islanders can just stay out of penalty trouble and get in the sin bin, they have as good a chance as anybody to beat the Pens. The key for the Isles is to play like they did against the Pens in the 2013 playoffs. Hello Kyle Okposo!

For the Pens, this is just their fourth game and Pascal Dupree will be a game time decision after getting hit in the neck with the puck. As always the player to watch is Sydney Crosby, but I’m looking forward to seeing Malkin get reacquainted with Travis Hamonic again. This next tweet pretty much sums up the Pens season so far:

Both teams will look for a more complete game tonight. Since you have two bi polar teams that have the best power plays and the worst penalty kills in the league, I would look for a 2-1, maybe a 3-2 game, just because.

Colin McDonald is in tonight for Grabovski.

I’m just taking a guess at the lines since I’m not sure if their official yet or not, and I’m just too lazy to look. Might as well add some drama to this, fire up a few fans, why not?
