Petrov To Stay In The KHL One More Year?

According to Igor Eronko (@IgorEronko)

Just ti give #NYIsles less hopes: Kirill Petrov’s agent states he will remain in Russia for 1 more year.

My Take: Part of me is just not surprised to hear this, but disappointing for sure as he was guaranteed a roster spot for next year by the Isles. Ask any Nashville Predators fan and they’ll tell you that they & I could see this as a Alexander Radulov scenario where as the KHL winds down next season and the Isles are in the thick of a playoff race, you could see Petrov come for a few months, then either go back to the KHL or try to play in the NHL full time. Either way it leaves a bland taste.
