Maple Leafs at Isles Feb 27-2014

So many people at the start of this season were hoping that this particular game after a two week Olympic Break, would be the game that would catapult the home team into a serious playoff push.

Right now -the only ‘push’ will be – who will be ‘pushed’ off the Island.

The Isles right now play for next year beginning tonight.  With John Tavares, Matt Martin and Frans Nielsen out of the lineup, the top line in Bridgeport comes up.

Ryan Strome, Anders Lee and Mike Halmo come up – with the latter 2 making the season debuts in the NHL.  Halmo – will be making his career NHL debut tonight on the fourth line between Casey Cizikas and Eric Boulton.

Lee and Strome will be featured on the second power play unit, and should get a real good chance to show off their skills.

Wondering what the reception (or lack thereof) will be for Thomas Vanek and Andrew MacDonald as they hit the ice tonight? (I know that Eddie in Section 316 will be laying down the welcome wagon!!!)

Toronto is seriously in the mix for the post season – and will bring out all of the stops tonight.

Will Austin Powers be in the stands?

Usually this is a game that Mike Myers hits the stands to watch his ‘Buds’.  Wonder if he is showing tonight.

I really thought that Matt Donovan played his way BACK into the lineup.  However, there are eight (8) up with the big club right now – so he is a victim of the numbers game.  With A-Mac soon to be gone… that may change.
