New York Islanders Week Ahead and Weekly Stud and Dud.

The New York Islanders will play three games this week of the Tuesday, Friday and Saturday variety. All three games will be on the road before they come home for their annual 4 game holiday home stand over Thanksgiving weekend.

Tuesday, November 19th: New York Islanders (8-10-3) @ Toronto Maple Leafs (12-7-1)  7pm

Friday, November 22nd: New York Islanders (8-10-3) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (13-8) 7pm

Saturday November 23rd: New York Islanders (8-10-3) @ Philadelphia Flyers (7-10-2) 7pm

Stud of the Week: John Tavares: JT tallied points in all three games last week. He had 2g and 3a. He continues to hold this club together as the Islanders try to find their identity and withstand the multitude of injuries.

Dud of the Week: Thomas Vanek: After tweaking a muscle 2 saturdays ago, Vanek has been out all week with an upper body muscle strain. Hopefully the Isles get him back tonight.

My prediction of the week: Buckle Up, Isles Fans! I think this week we will see the beginning of Kevin Poulin’s emergence as the Islanders goaltender of the future. I think this kid has what it takes and can be extremely effective for this team.
We’ll see, enjoy your week.

Kevin Poulin will get his opportunity to show

he can be the Islanders goalie of the future.
