Surprises?  Of course there are some.  A little disappointed to see Ryan Strome be sent down.  With the Clutterbuck IR situation, a forward could step up, and that is exactly what Brock Nelson did.  He was a ‘stud’ and did the things necessary to make the team.

I was rooting real HARD for Matt Donovan to make the team.  He has just impressed me every time I see him play.  He is not flashy, and not going to make you jump out of your seat.  However, he is smart with the puck, even smarter with the body, and I love how he jumps into the play offensively.  Give him some time and work with “Lubo” and we could have a potenital suitor of the power play for years to come.  I am hoping to get an interview with him Mom, Kathryn for my SportsTalk1240 show on Sunday night.  I have been talking to her throughout camp, and I am sure that she is on CLOUD 9 that her son made the big club.  Check Sports Radio NY on the web, to see if she will be on

With Griffin Rinehart here (I think for 9 – I just do not see him missing the World Juniors this season), Strome could be here if he blossoms the way I think he will.  Even though he played a short time at Bridgeport last season, and was under a point a game, you can see that he is much more talented than the AHL base.

Was not totally sold on Thomas Hickey this season.  He did not look as strong as he did during the last campaign, and that was what probably kept him here.

No surprise in net with Poulin up here.  Now the big question is how many games does “Nabby” play?  I am looking around 50-55.  He can not survive the campaign on anything over that, in my opinion.

Well Islander country, this is the team that we go to war with.  I am looking forward to Saturday now.  And I have Tavares and Lubo on my Fantasy Team.  I also have a great team name, “I DONT GIVE A CLUTTERBUCK!”

Let’s party!
