It is a sparse crowd here at Bridgeport tonight as the Tigers face the Manchester Monarchs.  The Tigers are coming off an impressive home and home sweep of the Connecticut Whale, and are one point ahead of the Manchester Monarchs in the conference standings.

Who is hot…..

1.  Nino Niederreiter – the 1st round pick is showing signs of the player that many Islander fans dreamed of when he was drafted.  In 29 games for the Tigers, he is averaging a point per game, with 15 goals which ranks him tied for fifth in the AHL (Ryan Nugent Hopkins leads the league with 20).  He is tied for eighth in the league with those 29 points.

2.  Kevin Poulin – Despite starting a little slow, the Quebec native has stepped his game of late, with nine victories on the season, with a goals against average of 2.93 with a .912 save percentage.

3.  David Ullstrom – Another player who is sizzling of late, Ullstrom had a 4 point night last week, to bring his point total to 16 in 19 games.  He is a part of the Swedish line with Johan Sundstrom and John Persson.

The Monarchs, have recent Stanley Cup champs in the lineup, in the likes of Jordan Nolan (son of Ted), Dwight King and Andrei Lokotinov and Slava Voynov.  They can be lethal and should provide a tough test for the home team.
